It doesn't have to taste weird...

Just because something is gluten-free doesn't mean it has to be some weird concoction that tastes so strange you find yourself wondering if it's food at all!! One of my favorite items to purchase for my son is the donuts from http://www.katzglutenfree.com/Glazed_Donuts_Gluten_Free_p/1804.htm?utm_source=1+or+2+free+glazed+donuts&utm_campaign=1+or+2+free+donuts&utm_medium=email.

How cool is this??!!!???!!!

Ok, I'm so excited I can hardly stand it!! While looking at a gluten-free website today, I noticed some EXTREMELY helpful information to those of your just starting out with eating this way.  Not only is the website super cool and very user friendly, it has MONTHLY menus AND the recipes to boot!! (Now do you see why I'm about to bust?!?)

Here's the original website: http://www.glutenfreeda.com/index.asp
On the left had side, you'll see a column with words such as "Home Page, This Month's recipes, Weekly featured recipe and Gluten-free Monthly Menus.

When you click on Gluten-free Monthly Menus, you'll go here: http://www.glutenfreeda.com/members_menus.asp.  Then you will see the menus.  I order to see a recipe, you simply click on the meal you want.  I have attached the ones from today:http://www.glutenfreeda.com/recipe-view.asp?cat=9&id=3721, this one is Grilled Steak with Chimichurri; served with Brown Rice w/Scallions & Pecans, http://www.glutenfreeda.com/recipe-view.asp?cat=11&id=774, and the oh so yummy Chocolate Coconut Creme Brulee, http://www.glutenfreeda.com/recipe-view.asp?cat=7&id=995773420.

I really hope this helps any of your that are overwhelmed.  Let me know what else I can do to help! That's what I'm here for!! Have a great gluten-free day!!

Websites for those of you wanting to mill your own gluten-free flours.

Hello everyone! I was recently asked about milling gluten-free flour.  While I have never done this, I'm sure one to do the research and see what helpful information I can pass your way.  Here are a couple of great websites for you to start out:  http://www.yourglutenfreekitchen.com/Should-You-Grind-Your-Own-Gluten-Free-Flour.html and http://glutenfreehomemaker.com/milling-your-own-gluten-free-flour/

Hopefully that will get you started!

Please feel free to post questions here or email me.  I'm hoping that by each person sharing their questions about being gluten-free, others will also benefit from the answers!

Hope you're each having a great day!!

Yummy Dessert Pizza

Hello there! Tonight David, the one with celiac, was trying to get creative with his dessert and decided to make dessert pizza.  He used a pre-made crust from EnjoyLife, spread marshmallow creme on it, then sprinkled it with chocolate chips.  To top it off, he ran some gluten-free bread through the Ninja and make bread crumbs.  Sprinkled on top, added a some pats of butter, set the oven at 350 degrees, and 12 minutes later, pure yumminess!!
